About SHADE

SHADE is a self-guided online program, developed by researchers at the University of Newcastle, designed to help adults experiencing symptoms of depression and who are drinking alcohol or using other drugs.

Comprised of 10 modules, the program aims to help people take practical steps towards helping improve their life. It offers Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness and motivational interviewing strategies such as; self-monitoring, coping with cravings, looking at core beliefs common in depression and drink refusal skills.
