About Parents of Gender-Diverse Children

Parents of Gender-Diverse Children provides peer support and information to parents and those parenting transgender and gender-diverse children. Developed by the Victoria State Government and Hey Project, Parent’s of Gender-Diverse Children aims to provide support to parents so they are better able to support their children, and raising awareness and understanding to ensure that professionals, educators and clinicians have the information, language and skills needed to create safe and inclusive environments for trans and gender diverse people and their families.

Parents of Gender-Diverse Children provides direct support to parents and families, connecting parents to safe, online groups where they can seek peer support, chat with other parents and share their experiences. In addition to the Parent’s Hub, the Parents of Gender-Diverse Children website provides parents, professionals and allies with resources on a range of topics relevant to trans and gender diverse children including legal information, language, news and media, personal stories, state-specific resources, national resources and books to build knowledge, increase confidence and increase understanding.

Parents of Gender-Diverse Children was developed to support parent and carers of transgender or gender-diverse children, professionals working with families, parents or young people and allies of tansgender and gender-diverse people.
