About Mind the Bump
Mind the Bump was a free Mindfulness Meditation App to help individuals and couples support their mental and emotional wellbeing in preparation for having a baby and becoming a new parent. Mind the Bump’s tailored exercises to support mental and emotional wellbeing from day one of pregnancy through to 24 months after birth will soon be available in the Smiling Mind app.
Written by psychologists and psychiatrists, this program is based on extensive international literature surrounding the benefits of Mindfulness Meditation to reduce stress, manage change and build connection.
Who is Mind the Bump for?
The program is for mothers, fathers, single parents, and same sex couples. It can also be used by health professionals working with new and expecting parents.
How does Mind the Bump work?
Previously an independent app, Mind the Bump has been incorporated into the Smiling Mind app as part of an integrated support approach. You can download the Smiling Mind app and access Mind the Bump this way.
Mind the Bump covers three key areas to help support the emotional wellbeing of couples and individuals expecting to welcome a baby.

Why Mind the Bump?
Mind the Bump was developed in collaboration with Smiling Mind who are advocates for positive mental health and wellbeing and recognised that preparing to welcome a child or becoming a new parent can be a big change for anyone. The program was developed with psychiatrists and psychologists who specialise in fields including perinatal health, online wellbeing, mental health and mindfulness meditation.
Mindfulness is all about paying attention to the present moment without judgement. Activities within the app help train users brain so they can build their ability to be mindful. This has far reaching benefits, including building users capacity to manage change, stress and build connection.
Is there a cost to use Mind the Bump?
No, the app is free to download and use as needed.
How to access Mind the Bump’s services
The Smiling Mind app which contains Mind the Bump is available for download from the iTunes App store and Google Play. Users simply download the app, create an account using their email address and setting a password and then all the Smiling Mind resources including Mind the Bump are available.
