We hope this season brings you moments of rest, connection, and renewal. May your holidays be filled with warmth, peace, and a well-deserved break.

Australia’s New Early Intervention Service Announced

St Vincent’s has announced it will deliver the nation’s new free digital mental health service, the Medicare Mental Health Check In, launching 1 January 2026. Designed to offer fast, accessible support to people experiencing stress, distress, or anxiety, the service will combine evidence-based digital tools with quick access to qualified mental health practitioners via telehealth, SMS, and chat. Drawing on more than two decades of experience through their well-established digital service THIS WAY UP, the new service by St Vincent’s will progressively roll out resources from January, with practitioner-supported care to follow in March.

A big thank you from WellMob

A few months ago, WellMob shared their short course on culturally responsive practice with our eMHPrac audience. The three-week course was delivered through eight short email lessons, offering multiple-choice scenarios with instant feedback. The response was incredible, over 350 people have enrolled and over a third have already completed the course!

With recruitment now closed, the WellMob team wanted to say a huge thank you for the fantastic level of engagement. Your participation will be contributing to research exploring the feasibility of micro-learning in a First Nation’s context, with evaluations set to start in early 2026. If you’d like to stay updated on future training opportunities, resources and news from WellMob, you can sign up to their newsletter here.
