Taking steps on your wellbeing journey – Mental Health Month

The theme for Mental Health Month 2025, “Taking steps on your wellbeing journey,” is a reminder that looking after our mental health doesn’t have to mean big changes, it’s often about small, steady steps. For health practitioners, it’s a chance to encourage both clients, colleagues and ourselves to take moments to pause, connect, and reflect. Check out the eMHPrac Stress and Wellbeing Referral Sheet for a curated list of online tools and resources for wellbeing, and browse the 2025 Mental Health Month calendars for community, youth, and First Nations People from Mental Health Australia for daily prompts that can inspire small wellbeing actions across October.
THIS WAY UP has a fresh new look

The THIS WAY UP website has been redesigned to make it easier for users and clinicians to navigate. The update includes a smoother onboarding process and an improved dashboard that allows users to track their progress in real time once they’re enrolled in a program. A new Resource Hub and an updated Wellbeing Test also make it easier to find the most suitable treatment options based on individual needs.
Check out our new OCD referral sheet

Last week was OCD Awareness Week (13-19 October 2025), a worldwide event that aims to dispel myths about obsessive-compulsive disorder, break stigma, and provide education on the disorder and how to support those affected. In line with this, we’d like to share our new Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Referral Sheet, which brings together a number of digital mental health resources including free online treatment programs, counselling lines and peer support platforms.
Supporting social and emotional wellbeing this Mental Health Month

Mental Health Month is a perfect time to reflect on wellbeing through an Indigenous lens. For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, mental health in understood through a broad holistic framework grounded in our ways of doing, knowing, and being, known as social and emotional wellbeing (SEWB).
SEWB recognises the importance of connection to Country, culture, spirituality, family, and community. It also acknowledges the impact and intergenerational trauma and the strength found in healing through cultural identity and relationships.
WellMob.org.au supports this framework by offering culturally safe online resources that align with SEWB, from videos and apps to podcasts and healing stories, helping Mob stay strong in mind, body, and spirit.
