SUMMARY:Webinar 85 – Short Mental Health Interventions: Perimenopause and Undiagnosed Neurodivergence
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]What happens when perimenopause overlaps with neurodivergence – especially when a personal may be unaware of their neurodivergent profile? Dr Ceri Cashell (GP and co-founder of Healthy Hormones) and Dr Sarah Barker (Clinical Psychologist, Black Dog Institute) will explore supportive, respectful, and validating approaches to taking a comprehensive life history. Their discussion will focus on conducting thorough mental health assessments in the context of perimenopause, particularly when neurodivergence may be a contributing factor.\nThey will explore effective approaches for initiating conversations, identifying key questions to ask, and screening for co-occuring concerns. The discussion will also cover how to understand and navigate complex presentations involving perimenopause, neurodivergence, and mental health. Additionally, they will outline mental health referral pathways and highlight valuable online resources to support both patients and clients.\nWe warmly invite you to join use for this Short Mental Health Interventions perimenopause sequel – we look forward to a wonderful conversation together on this important topic!\nThis webinar series aims to provide GPs and other health professionals with skills to ‘fill the gap’ in providing mental health care to their patients using a range of brief interventions. Each webinar will be a discussion about the specific intervention and tips on how to use it effectively with your patients.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]This webinar is designed for GPs, GP registrars, psychologists, and allied mental health practitioners, or any other health professional with an interest in improving outcomes for patients with mental health conditions.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]RACGP CPD Accredited Activity – 0.5 CPD hour (Educational Activities)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]\n
