About Baby Steps

Baby Steps is an online program which aims to enhance the wellbeing of new mums and dads and support them in their transition to parenthood.

Baby Steps was written for both dads and mums. The program provides information on aspects of the care of a new baby, as well as information on how parents can support each other and also take care of themselves. This information is provided in the form of nine modules:

  • Getting prepared
  • Feeding
  • Improving baby’s sleeping habits
  • Soothing
  • Self-Care
  • Relationships
  • Interacting with Baby
  • Changing Roles
  • Especially for Fathers

Who is Baby Steps for?

The program was written primarily for parents having their first baby, but can be used by anyone with a young baby who wants to learn more about caring for their baby or themselves.


Is there a cost to use Baby Steps?

No.


How to access Baby Steps?

The program is available online at https://www.babysteps.org.au/login. To register and have full access to the program users must provide an email, password, gender, and age. They also need to indicate how they heard about Baby Steps.


Baby Steps Research and Evaluation

The randomised controlled trial which has just been completed compared the effectiveness of the interactive wellbeing program (Baby Steps) with an information-only baby care program.
